I made a donation of my own, and I see this in my donor account. My project is still under review. Will i be able to apply my donations to my project after it's approved?

I had a parent of a student make a donation today, using the match code. I haven't received notification of a gift card so I am wondering if it is working correctly. My project was completed so I asked parents to buy gift cards that I can use towards future projects. Last time, I received notification of gift cards purchased by parents.
I am having the same issue. My family from Canada donated this past week using the pumpkin match code. I don't have a project posted yet, but i never got any notification that there were any donations. I have emailed but not heard back from donorschoose.org. I hope they will remedy this quickly because I will feel bad if a glitch in the system caused them to miss out on the friends and family match week.
I am having the same issue. I have had people say they donated to me using the gift card feature and the match code. Where do I go to see this?
I didn't know family and friends could buy a giftcard for future use? How do you make sure it is doubled . . . assuming they input the passcode for this week? I just had two projects funded and would love to put out another one, but I need to get some more points first! :)
I am having a lot of trouble this week. I posted a project to begin on the first day of "friends and family week" and was sent the match code "inspire" instead of "pumpkin". As a result some on my donations were not matched dollar for dollar. I discovered the pumpkin code myself here yesterday and sent it to parents but the gift cards are not being sent to me. I am afraid to have anyone else donate at this point because they will be reticent to donate to this site later, since it is not working as advertised this week.
Hi all - thanks for posting! Our tech team is working on getting all of the email notifications out to you, and I'm sorry for the delay. We appreciate your patience!
Patricia - the match code INSPIRE is sent to all teachers immediately when their project is posted, and is valid for the first week that their project is posted. The match code PUMPKIN is valid for all projects only from October 8 - 15 during the Friends and Family match challenge. I hope that helps to clarify, and that you'll spread the word about both :)

Thanks Gwen. I understand what went wrong. My problem is that I was not sent the code Pumpkin. In fact, I only received that email today. As a result, I thought the "inspire code" was the correct one and sent it out to my "friends and family" which resulted in one of my donors not receiving a dollar for dollar match. He was a nice man who went back in and donated more to make sure my project was completed. As a teacher of his child, I was embarassed at giving him incorrect information. Every advertisement I received from donorschoose about "friends and family week" said the code would be sent out on Monday. When I received that email on Monday, I assumed it was the correct code. Had I received the "pumpkin" code, this mistake would never have been made.
I see, thanks so much for following up and I do apologize for the confusion and the trouble this caused. Have you contacted our staff directly through the contact form? If you haven't, please submit an inquiry when you have a moment here: https://secure.donorschoose.org/contact/contact_form.html?userType=teacher
That way we'll be able to look into what happened with the email on Monday, and work through it with you.
I have the same situation happening. On Monday, I was sent both codes. I looked around DonorsChoose to try and find out which to use but had no luck. Because INSPIRE came in first, that is the one I told families to use. I had one parent donate before I realized the mistake that was made. I feel like that parent's donation should still be matched since that was the code we were given (in addition to PUMPKIN). I've notified families of the corrected code now, but can the first parent have her donation matched?
(I also followed the above link to submit an inquiry. I hope we can figure this out before the donation match window closes.) :/
Gwen, if I wanted to take my kids on a field trip but have not submitted the project yet, will it be possible to send my friends and family to donate towards a gift card to me to get matched dollar for dollar and then I can use that gift card towards a field trip? I know it works for other items but not sure if it works for field trips.
That's correct! Gift cards can be redeemed to support any type of project that's eligible for funding. If they send you gift cards, you'll be able to redeem those to help fund your class trip project after it is posted and eligible for funding.
Good afternoon, everyone! I know I have at least 4 donors using the PUMPKIN match code including myself, but I only see "1 donor recruited" on my donor page. Is this because this page only reflects my own personal donations? My project is still under review; does this have something to do with me not seeing my other donor's contributions? Is there a page where I can see everyone who wishes to donate to my classroom?
I think we are all having the same problem. The last time my project was completed, parents donated money for gift cards for future projects. I received email notifying me that gift cards had been purchased and the name of the donor. This time, I only know of one who donated for a gift card (and used the pumpkin code) but I have not received notification. What worries me is that I don't know how many others many have responded to my email request to donate this week because of the match offer. The one parent keeps asking me if I received it yet. I don't want her to worry but I simply don't know.
Did the parent receive a receipt email? This sounds like my problem, but not only did I not get a notification, the donor didn't even get a receipt email (which should come into their email account immediatly after they submit a donation).
If I had people donate using the match code and I received an email, does the amount donated reflect the actual donation or the donation with the match already included?
Also, I had someone donate and forget to use the code. She let you all know right after and someone emailed her a coupon to apply to my account. She said she applied this. How will I know when this has been applied?
Yes the actual donation amount. Donorschoose will send another gift card to the donors, so make sure you let the parents know. My husband tried donating, so I received 2 giftcodes from him.
Should I be worrried that none of my family members got receipt emails after donating?...that means I never got the notification email and the code to apply to my project that i'm about to submit, and they did not get the code for ther matched fund gift card (PUMPKIN code) to apply to my next project either. Their credit cards have all been charged the donation amount but the money is nowhere to be found. I hope this is just a delay in the website, but if not, I hope the money can be found and allocated to where it was intended. I have not heard from the help emails i subitted yet. Has anyone else run into this problem?
My families are having the same problem. One received notification of payment but no gift card. Another received a gift card a sent it over to me. I think donorschoose is just really backed up because so many people donated during the week. Hopefully it will all catch up to us this week.
Thanks for continuing to post here, and our apologies for the confusion. We're working to get these notifications out ASAP, and you should receive the gift codes from your friends and family by mid-week. Thanks again!
Thanks Gwen for easing my worries...i'll look for those emails this week. Thanks again!
My emails came and I am overwhelmed. What an awesome week! Next time, I wont' worry. Thanks donorschoose and thanks donors, friends, family, and corporate sponsors.
